L’ Alfa 1 glicoproteina acida è la principale delle mucoproteine ed è anche detta meno comunemente orosomucoide; si tratta di una proteina della fase acuta sintetizzata, come nel fegato e facente parte delle mucoproteine. Aumenta pertanto in tutti i quadri flogistici infettivi e autoimmuni ma anche in condizioni neoplastiche. Ha basso peso molecolare e può pertanto essere eliminata a livello renale in caso di glomerulonefrite o sindrome nefrosica aumentando la proteinuria. Oltre che nella fase acuta l’alfa 1 glicoproteina aumenta nell’ittero ostruttivo mentre diminuisce nell’ittero epatocellulare. Aumenta inoltre nelle sindromi nefrosiche. Migra sia nelle alfa che nelle beta globuline.
Alpha 1 acid glycoprotein is the main mucoprotein and is also less commonly called orosomucoid; it is an acute phase protein synthesized, as in the liver and part of the mucoproteins. It therefore increases in all infectious and autoimmune inflammatory conditions but also in neoplastic conditions. It has a low molecular weight and can therefore be eliminated at the renal level in case of glomerulonephritis or nephrotic syndrome by increasing proteinuria. In addition to the acute phase, alpha 1 glycoprotein increases in obstructive jaundice while it decreases in hepatocellular jaundice. It also increases in nephrotic syndromes. It migrates in both alpha and beta globulins.
